‘Midnightgardens’ is the artistic back yard of Belgian maker Michèle Meesen (1976).
Michèle studied Arts & Humanities as well as Law, and has a strong interest in subjects relating to philosophy and ethics – especially in cases concerning social contexts. This reflected also in her master theses, which discussed the role of governments with regard to euthanasia (Law) and the contractual capacities of represented outsider artists (Arts & Humanities).
She also studied at the Art Academies of Belgium’s oldest city, Tongeren, and Brussels, where she engaged in the fields of drama and painting.
Currently, she’s working as administrator at one of Belgium’s Higher Art Institutes in the program ‘apass’: advanced performance and scenography studies. She also teaches applied legislation and intercultural communication to artists and event managers.
