The King County Police Union MY ID CLUB was established as a tool for parents who want to equip their children with identification cards. Over the last 17 years, the organization has participated in more than 2,500 events throughout the community, providing their card services completely free of charge to over 300,000 individuals. The program supports itself through donations made via www.kingcounty.myidclub.org, our annual fund drive and corporate sponsorships. Sponsors can request their name be listed as a sponsor on the actual ID cards. The King County Police Union has supported fundraisers for various causes during the last three decades, and in 1997 turned their attention to the nearly 800,000 children under the age of 18 who are reported missing every year. The organization’s services can also be beneficial in the event of a child being injured when a parent or guardian is not around.
The King County Police Union and MY ID CLUB further serve children and their families through the child safety program. Recent additions to the child safety program include the Puget Sound Crime Stoppers, the Seattle Police Department, the Seattle Police Foundation, and the Spokane Police SCOPE program.
