Established in Richmond, Texas, in August 1990 by licensed pharmacist Bruce Gingrich, Lifechek Drug has grown from a small family-owned business to the largest independently owned pharmacy chain in the United States. Lifechek Drug started out as a prescription-only pharmacy. Over the past 25 years, it has grown into a retail-inclusive business with over 30 outlets all over Texas and surrounding states.
Lifechek Drug’s mission is to deliver quality pharmaceutical care to local communities, and improve the quality of life for its customers. Certain outlets provide a delivery service for customers, as well as a range of other medical services, including consulting, adult immunizations, cholesterol testing, and compounding.
Lifechek’s entrance into compounding has been recent. Currently, there are six outlets that provide customized compounding for primarily dermatological conditions or for pain that occurs near the surface of the skin. The chain is set to expand its compounding services in 2015.
