Dropr is the easier, simpler, faster and despite that even more powerful network for all creative heads. Our aim is to provide a well-thought and fun to use set of tools for artists of various backgrounds and bring them together into the first global multimedia art network.
You don't need an invitation to join Dropr anymore, but you still need one to create a portfolio. You can get one from an existing member of Dropr or request one from us.
STRAW stands for System That Relates Artists & Work. We use STRAW to find similarities between different users and projects. This makes it easy for us to suggest content for you to take a look at.
AAAAA! stands for Always Active Art Awesomeness Algorythm! It analyses creative content around the network and tries to judge which projects and portfolios are the most interesting and well.. awesome at a given moment.
Definitely. Dropr is a cross-platform app and it automatically adapts to display its content best on many mobile devices. You will need a relatively new browser which supports JavaScript but other than that Dropr should work on your laptop, tablet, phone and even fridge.
A dropr. You become one when you join and begin dropping some creative stuff.
When you join Dropr you become a Treasure Seeker (toucan), and you can do everything (such as comment, publish collections, follow etc.) but not upload artwork. Your page is then called "Toucan's Nest".
To create a portfolio you need to upgrade your account to Cloudmaster or Guru. The best way to do so is to get an invitation or collect votes from other Cloudmasters.
Have a look at dropr.com/settings/account_type for more info.
You can upload these file types:
At the moment, you can just send us a message, we'll simply give you more if we like your work.
To add a HTML5 piece, upload a ZIP file which contains an "index.html" file. You can also add your own CSS, JS and anything else that makes your piece amazing. Please don't include external links or evil code though!
Be active! Some suggestions:
We constantly browse Dropr looking at all of the new artwork and we usually find someone to feature this way. However it is possible that some great talent has slipped through the net. If you are that talent, let us know.
It's most likely you haven't marked it as published yet. You should see an 'on/off' switch in the project management panel. Try toggle that to 'on'. If this doesn't work contact us.
You do. Well, by default at least... In fact we provide the ability to set a number of different Creative Commons licences to each project you add to your portfolio on Dropr. Have a look at the 'More Settings' area in the project management panel
Just go to your settings (from dashboard or the header nav or click here).
Go here. You can also add more networks there.
Just select what you want to receive on your settings page.
From your settings page (all your work and other data will be removed forever). It doesn't suck, does it? You just want to have a break. A little rest. You'll be back. Won't you?
Grandpa IE has served the world for almost a decade (tell it to Chrome!) and it can't handle things like Dropr anymore. We recommend you let it rest in peace and get yourself a modern browser. We suggest any of the ones listed below.
If you are unfortunate enough to be stuck with IE6 for some reason, we do apologise. And are deeply sorry.
