Throughout his academic career, Andrew Horun of Phillipsburg High School has combined participation in wrestling and other activities with a rich family and personal life. He enjoys traveling with his family to visit such natural wonders as Zion National Park and the Grand Canyon, which he had the opportunity to explore both by train and by foot along its many hiking trails. Andrew Horun remains active closer to home as a participant in competitive wrestling, which requires him to train intensively three to four times per week.
When not wrestling, Mr. Horun volunteers with Sts. Peters and Paul Byznatine Catholic Church, the Greek Catholic Union, and the Knights of Columbus. He coaches young wrestlers and soccer players, including children at a local grade school. A fan of professional sports as well, he particularly enjoys such teams as the New York Giants and the Brooklyn Nets. He names Eli manning and Martin Brodeur among his favorite athletes.
A developing musician as well, Mr. Horun is currently learning to play the guitar. On his Squire guitar, made by Fender Acoustic, he has familiarized himself with common chords and has learned two popular songs.
